Hello, and welcome to Arkadia. If you're here to learn more about the server and the best way to get started when it comes to your adventures on Arkadian Arks, then you've come to the right place! Information in respects to certain aspects of Arkadia can be found here in this section, such as breeding, economy, community, etc. If you're looking for rules and rates, you can access that page by simply clicking the "Rules, Rates, & Specs" tab from the "Server Information" menu or simply by clicking here. We hope you enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions, the best way to contact us is through our server discord or similarly the contact page.
GETTING STARTED
Whether you're just getting started on the server itself or in the game of Ark as an overall whole, we've taken steps to accommodate newcomers of all sorts! We always recommend beginning your game on the traditional "The Island" map. Here, gameplay is a bit more laid back than on our other servers, which we have designed to appeal more to veteran players or similarly those who prefer a more challenging experience. Our TI map, on the other hand, has a large PvE area where, if you're just getting started and desire a safe location to build up your dinosaur army and stock up on supplies, you'll be safe from the more PvP oriented aspects of the server.
Similarly, if you'd prefer to begin your Arkadia adventures among other players, even if it's just until you're up on your feet and are likewise ready to establish a tribe of your own, the doors of founder tribe, aka "The Arkadians", are always open to newcomers. Players who wish to join up with us simply so they can get up on their feet before venturing off on their own will be marked as "guests" and likewise have limited access when it comes to tribe structures and dinosaurs. However, if you ultimately decide to stay for the long term, that's always an option as well! |
BREEDING & DINOSAUR PRODUCTIVITY
We get a lot of questions and comments regarding our breeding rates, so we figured that it was something we should probably address publicly just so that everyone has a clearer/better understanding of why, exactly, we established dinosaur productivity rates the way we did. Simply put, we wanted breeding to be an effort = reward system - if you're willing to put in the extra time and effort Arkadia demands when it comes to breeding, your efforts will always be rewarded.
As you may have noticed, offspring in Arkadia take an unusually long time to grow up (typically between a few days to two weeks but some of the larger, higher class dinosaurs may take even longer). This was put into effect for two primary reasons. First of all, because we don't want Arkadia to be a place that's flooded with dinosaurs obtained through breeding. As stated previously, we wanted breeding in Arkadia to be a process where, as long as someone was willing to put in the time and effort for it, their efforts would be heavily rewarded. Second, because we likewise wanted to use breeding as a cornerstone to the server's developing economy. If it was a quick, simple process that everyone was willing to undertake, it would quickly overtake that aspect of the server. Simply put, in Arkadia, breeding is meant to be a time consuming, but ultimately rewarding and often profitable process. The rate at which babies grow is slow, but their care requirements are almost entirely non-existent. They consume little to no food and require next to no attention as long as they're in a safe location where they won't be targeted by other players or wild dinosaurs. Rates are likewise set in such a way that allows for an easy process for 100% imprinting, as stated, as long as you're willing to put in the time. |
COMMUNITY & ECONOMY
While we don't have any sort of central "trading post" type areas on Arkadia, we do encourage economy growth via the establishment of trade systems (and also alliances) between tribes. Live up in the mountains where its easy to find metal but you struggle to farm oil? Set up an arrangement between your own tribe and a tribe closer to the beach, where oil is easier to come by. Can't seem to tame yourself a decent level Rex? Consider discussing some terms of trade between a more breeding oriented tribe or similarly a tribe with an influx of the species of dino you need.
It's true that Arkadia is a more PvP oriented server, but that doesn't mean its players can't help each other out from time to time. As server founders, it is our hope that Arkadia can develop into a flourishing and friendly community where players can enjoy defending against their "enemies" while simultaneously helping their "allies", all the while making friends and overall having the best Ark experience possible. |
